Astodia Neonatal Transilluminator
$975.00
Description
Preemies and newborns have small and fragile veins, making it difficult to draw blood or insert an IV with the first puncture. Current illumination tools available are either expensive, bulky or not completely effective. Developed by a neonatologist, Astodia uses the latest generation of high-powered LEDs to provide clear views of even the smallest vessels in premature and small infants, reducing the number of needle sticks.
The Astodia vein finder utilizes red and yellow wavelengths individually to accommodate different patient sizes and vein depths. The yellow light creates sharp contrast to clearly show veins in smaller extremities. The red diode is ideal for illuminating darker tissues, and can also be used to identify hydrocel, pneumothorax and pneumoperitoneum. The LEDs are adjustable with different gradients of brightness, for clear vein targeting at various tissue densities.
Astodia is lightweight and has rounded edges, making it easy to hold. Its small size lets you hold it under the patient’s extremities without moving the patient out of the incubator. The wand is gentle on the baby’s skin. Automatic safety features ensure that the patient is never exposed to an uncomfortable temperature.
The Astodia transilluminator package includes 1 control unit, 1 two-piece LED probe with adjustable lights, 1 battery charger, 1 carrying case, an operating manual and a demonstration DVD.
Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 5 in
